Levi’s Stadium, the new home for the San Francisco 49ers, opened their doors to the general public this past weekend and revealed a very tech friendly sporting venue. The 68,000+ seated stadium boasts the fastest and most accessible wifi that we have seen in any another sporting complex; 1,000 access points scattered throughout the stadium with 40 Gbps of connectivity, nearly 40 times faster than any other stadium out there. To compliment the accessible wifi, Levi’s Stadium has created it’s own app that will provide spectators access to exclusive in game content like custom replays and highlights, it also allows sport goers to order food and have it delivered right to their seats, another eco friendly aspect of the Levi’s Stadium app is that it makes buying tickets to games simpler and paperless.
Besides implementing paperless ticketing, Levi’s Stadium has taken other green initiatives; the stadium has been surrounded by various public transportation options, it has enough solar panels to easily power all the 49er’s home games, and a green-roof has been planted over the suite boxes to help insulate and regulated temperatures naturally during warm and cold seasons.
With the fusion of tech, green, and a classic stadium feel Levi’s Stadium fits perfectly in it’s Santa Clara location in the heart of Silicon Valley.
