Must-Have Wii Games

Since Nintendo released the Wii gaming console in November 2006, it quickly became one of the top competitors in the gaming industry.  There are now a wide variety of games for the Wii out there in the market. It seems like every movie, celebrity, and character has a game (e.g. The Hannah Montana: Spotlight World Tour — which I am embarrassed to say I have played before).

But for those of us who can’t afford to buy every game out there, here are a few of the top ones I would recommend you invest in based on personality/social types.

1. The Group Partier: This is a girl or guy who has a Wii for group-entertainment purposes. They would rather invite a bunch of people over to all play the Wii, instead of spending the day, or night, by themselves playing alone. These people like games that are interactive, fun, and will give you a good laugh if you’re watching somebody else. Top Choices: Just Dance 2 and Karaoke Revolution Glee.

2. The Old-School Nintendo Lover: Who doesn’t love and cherish the memories they had of playing classic Nintendo 64 games like Super Mario 64, Zelda, Golden Eye 007, and Super Smash Bros? Now you can relive those memories on the Wii, but now with better gaming devices and superior graphics. Top Choices: Super Mario Galaxy 2, Super Smash Bros. Brawl, and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess.

3. Speedy Gonzales: Give this kid a racing game and they are satisfied for hours. They have the need for speed and love the thrill of sabotaging other drivers while racing. Whether they are into cartoon character racing, or more real-life graphics, here are the Top Choices: Mario Kart Wii, Excite Truck, and Need for Speed: Nitro.

4. Sports Connoisseur: For those who love all things sports. These sports buffs watch ESPN religiously and enjoy watching, or playing, almost every main sport, such as: baseball, football, soccer, and golf. Top Choices: Madden NFL ’10, Major League Basketball 2k11, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour ’10.

Seeing as you mentioned GoldenEye for “The Old-School Nintendo Lover” I thought you’d put in GoldenEye 007 for Wii. But alas, the other games mentioned are much worthier of one’s time.
