Google Just Accidentally Leaked A Photo Of The Nexus 5

Is this Google's Nexus 5?

Earlier today, Google announced Android 4.4 KitKat and added a new Android statue at the corporate campus in Mountain View. During the unveiling, crowds of Google employees all stood nearby, snapping photos and recording videos of the event. The film crew was on hand as well, and caught some footage of the audience. What it didn’t intend to catch, however, was one of its own unreleased products: what we’re considering to be the Nexus 5.

Since 9to5Google reported on this less than an hour ago, Google has pulled the video down from YouTube, which tells us there’s likely some validity to the report. You can plainly see the ‘nexus’ logo on the back, now scribed horizontally across the back, just like the new Nexus 7 tablet. You can also see the device is considerably larger than the Nexus 4, thanks to a fellow Google employee holding one just to the right. Also of note: a large camera, the design of which also mimics its big brother. Last but not least, and difficult to see, the Nexus 5 may be manufactured by LG, the same as the current Nexus 4. Towards the bottom of the device, you can see the outline of a logo that looks a lot like LG’s. If so, that’s a direct contradiction to previous statements that Google won’t be partnering with LG for another version of their flagship phone.

I still fully expect Google will unveil the Nexus 5 (the “5″ could be indicative of the screen size at 5-inches) within the next 60 days. I’ll update you as more unfolds.

[Update] A copy of the video was saved before Google took it down. I’ve embedded it below.
