When it comes to growing plants, I fail. Even plants that are supposed to be hearty and extremely difficult to kill are endangered in my home. So, it was not difficult to sell me on the need for this new gadget in and outside of my home.
Parrot Flower Power is a geeked-out stake you insert in the dirt next to the plant you wish to monitor. Its wireless sensors detect soil moisture, sunlight, temperature and fertilizer. The stake pairs with an app on your smartphone, which will then notify you when your plant needs a little lovin’ in the form of water, sunlight, fertilizer, or a temperature change.
The “eco-geek project” is not available yet but is set to release this year.
