This password requires 8 alphanumeric characters, two uppercase letters, at least one digit and two special characters. Just when you think you have a password that will work for a few logins, another company throws a new obscure twist in, and soon you find yourself with more passwords than your poor little brain can handle. Often, this translates into written passwords. Not necessarily the most secure solution.
Fortunately, for those of us with more passwords than hours in a day, there is a solution on Kickstarter. myIDkey puts all of your passwords into a secure USB/Bluetooth device. But it gets even cooler when you look at all that it does. Swipe the device with one finger, and then use the voice-search to find the password you’re looking for. And you won’t have to worry about any joe-schmo being able to swipe and access your passwords – the device knows your fingerprint and uses this biometric security to keep your information safe. Need a password for your email or bank account? Just tell the device and it will pull it up straightaway.
The device can also be plugged directly into your laptop or computer and will then autofill any applicable passwords. This is a genius time-saver. And if you ever find yourself in a sticky situation where you find you’ve misplaced your myIDkey or worse – had it stolen, your device will auto-destruct automatically after too many failed attempts. The device owner will then be able to restore content to a new myIDkey by syncing to your desktop or to myIDkey’s secure cloud.
myIDkey is not limited to passwords. If you like, you can also use the storage for documents, photos, videos, and more.
