I’ve been bringing you updates on all the changes happening at T-Mobile this week – from the availability of the iPhone 5 to their new 4G LTE network. Now, just one more thing to complete the big picture: new rate plans. These officially rolled out on Sunday, and you may have seen the chart I compiled with the total costs to have a phone with each carrier, which included T-Mobile’s new rates.
In the image above, you can see the entry-level plan for a single line with T-Mobile: $50 a month gets you unlimited calling and texting, plus 500MB of 4G data. If you want more than that, you can add another 2GB (total 2.5GB) for an extra $10 bucks. If that’s still not enough, T-Mobile’s highest plan gives you the same unlimited talk and text, as well as unlimited 4G data for just $70 bucks a month. Needless to say, they’re being aggressive with pricing here.
And just how fast is that shiny new 4G LTE network, you ask? It’s fast.
They’ve also got a new ad to go along with these changes. It’s simply called ‘Something Better’ and you can watch it below. You’ll notice T-Mobile has done away with (even if just temporarily) Carly Foulkes, their spokesmodel since Fall 2010. It’s still unknown if we’ll see or hear from her again, and the cowboys in the new ad pale in comparison to her wildly good looks. Maybe it’s true what they say — out with the old, in with the new.
